AI document processing & data extraction: Document Intelligence

Turn piles of paperwork into clean, structured data. We build pipelines that read, classify, extract and validate information from documents at scale.

Definition

What is document intelligence?

Document intelligence, also called intelligent document processing (IDP), uses AI to read documents such as invoices, purchase orders, KYC forms and contracts. It classifies each document, extracts the fields you need, validates them against business rules and sends clean, structured data to your accounting system, ERP or spreadsheets.

Service

What we deliver

  • Invoice, purchase order and delivery challan processing
  • KYC and onboarding document verification

Process

How we build a document processing pipeline

01

Sample your documents

We collect real examples of each format, including poor scans and unusual layouts, and list the fields you need.

02

Extract and classify

Vision and language models identify each document type and pull out the required fields.

03

Validate against your rules

Totals, tax IDs and purchase order matches are checked automatically. Anything uncertain goes to a person for review.

04

Send to your systems

Clean data flows to your accounting system, ERP, spreadsheet or database, with a record of every change.

Illustrative example

What it could look like.

Imagine an accounts team keying in supplier invoices from email attachments. A pipeline reads each invoice, extracts the line items, checks totals and tax IDs, and matches it to the purchase order. Clean invoices post automatically, and exceptions land in a review queue.

Where to start

Your first project, and when to skip it.

A good first project is one document type with steady volume, such as supplier invoices or delivery notes. Most first projects begin as a proof of concept lasting two to four weeks. See ways to work with us

If you handle only a few documents a week, manual entry is likely cheaper than building a pipeline. Off-the-shelf OCR can also be enough for one consistent format.

FAQ

Document Intelligence, explained.

Have a question we haven't covered?

Talk to us
Can it read scanned and handwritten documents?

Yes. We use vision models that read PDFs, scans and photos, then validate what they extract against your business rules.

Which accounting systems and ERPs does it work with?

Extracted data can be exported to accounting systems such as Tally, to your ERP, or to spreadsheets and databases. If your system has an API or an import format, we can usually connect it.

What validation checks do you run?

Typical checks include tax ID formats such as GSTIN or VAT numbers, totals and tax calculations, and matching invoices against purchase orders. We add the rules your team already applies by hand.
